We have had 4 meetings including the one in October in Drammen. In the first meeting we had a brainstorming over what we would like to work with in the project. We talked about using facebook as a tool. The second meeting was in Descember, we decided that we wanted to create facebook pages for each library. The next meetings were in january and february, they were more like workshops. We talked about what we should post on the pages, we looked at other school libraries facebook pages, and we also had to learn how to use facebook as not all of us were familliar with it. be
We chose Facebook as an arena first and foremost because that’s where we can reach our students, since it is one of their social arenas. It’s a golden opportunity for us to tell what we as librarians and libraries can offer and how we can assist our students in their school work. We can also tell what’s new in the library, e.g. ongoing and/or coming activites, tell about new books, courses we can give etc. etc. You can click on the link to visit one of our FB pages (they look more or less the same) http://www.facebook.com/pages/Biblioteket-Lier-videreg%C3%A5ende-skole/259605787453120
What now? Further plans? We will continue to develope our facebook pages. And we will find the best ways to approach students and teachers to make them (and us) competent in 2.0 tools. We are looking forward to further collaboration with school librarians in Pärnu. After the visit in Pärnu the Norwegian librarians will meet regularly to continue work within the project.
Olev Siinmaa was a famous architct living and working in Pärnu. To pupils, Mailis and Mirko and their englishteacher from Hansagymnasium gave the participants from Norway a very informative tour of the city.
The tour lasted for two and a half hour with a spectacular stop at the Ammende villa where we had coffee and cake. The villa is today a hotel and restaurant in Art Nouveau style.

We also had a look at the house Siinmaa built for himself and his wife.
The tour was ended at the beautiful beach.
The librarians had a useful meeting. First we updated each other on the ongoing activities. In Estland Pärnu Central Library has arranged seminars for the librarians in social media for all school librarians in Pärnu. 13 persons has been following the courses. As a result several school libraries has established themselves on Facebook, and several have started blogging. All libraries now have some basic information on their schools pages. The seminars will continue and the goal is a community of practice among the librarians.
In Norway the librarians have all established pages on Facebook. These pages will be further developed. The librarians have started to collaborate and will continue doing so.
We started planning for future activities. PR and marketing is a topic of interest to all. Information literacy is also something we will continue working on. We will work evidencebased and search for research that report on best practice.
The school librarians in Pärnu will together with Pärnu Central library arrange a brainstorming in May. They will make a course for teachers in information literacy that they will implement in September.
Establishing one or several school libraries as learning centers will be a goal for the Norwegian school libraries.
Buskerud County library and Pärnu Central library will keep in close contact and report on the progress.
12th of April presented Toomas Matthias Kokk and Reemet Okas their course work in Pärnu Coeducational Gymnasium. At the time of writing their course work both students conducted a survey. They asked senior students participation from Pärnu Coeducational Gymnasium and from St. Hallvard Upper Secondary School. After completion of course work the students created a blog. From there, the fans get more information about the survey.
Their blogs can be found on these sites:

Yesterday night a delegation of 14 participants ( teachers, librarians and school managers from Buskerud + myself) arrived in Pärnu City in Estonia. Our first project visit here was finally a fact, a return visit to the meeting in Buskerud in October. Today we were warmly welcomed by the Mayor of Pärnu, Mr. Tomas Kivimägi at Pärnu City Library. Afterwards project coordinator in Pärnu, Katrin, and myself gave short surveys of main activities in the respective regions thoughout the year. Later followed an interesting guided tour of the modern library and presentations of school library activities in both countries. New entries about this will follow!
Here is my presentation:

13th of March some of us (Design and Crafts, Languages and leaders) met in Hønefoss for further collaboration and planning of out visit to Pärnu. We decided that Languages participate in this project mainly by collaborating with the Design and Crafts-teachers. Maybe later we can develop this further, and taking Language-teachers to Pärnu can bring us a lot of ideas concerning how to use ict in education, but collaboration within Norway seem difficult because the three school differ so much.
We worked out how to present in Pärnu what we’ve been working with, and started out the “My Buskerud”-idea. We’d also like to start working with school leadership and Kirsti will be in contact with Pärnu to see how we can start this off.
There are now also a lot of blogs, facebook-groups and so on. We hope we all will link to these on this blog. Here are some that hasn’t been linked here so far:
